Earth Pummeled By Solar Storms As More Sunspots Appear On Sun S Surface
A G2 geomagnetic storm was recorded on August 7, while another smaller G1 storm is expected on Monday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center said. The NOAA said high-latitude power systems could be affected by the storm, while the orbits of spacecraft may be impacted.
